Monika in November [Portrait Photography Cortes Island]
I photographed Monika on a freezing and windy November day, and I am only finally showcasing the images now. Sometimes, these things take time. Working on personal photography projects keeps me inspired. It's my catharsis and my playtime. However, sometimes when I shoot, I am so involved in the process of creation, it's not until I get home and begin looking through the images that I really get to experience the emotions involved in making the photographs. I want to evoke strong emotions in my work, and I surprise myself by creating things I didn't know I loved until I saw them on my screen (or better yet , printed as a canvas on my wall). My good friend Monika agreed to be my model. She has been featured on this blog before—(check her and her beautiful children out here ), and I am sure we will collaborate many more times together.
