Lisa Gibbons—Artist at Work (Portrait Photography Cortes Island)

Lisa is my mixed-media art instructor. Thanks to her, every week I get to take three hours for myself and get creative with no agenda. A-year-and-a-half ago, when I had first moved to Cortes I had never worked in mixed media. But seeing Lisa's art around the island inspired me to give it a try. Now I look forward to class all week.Lisa asked Alex and I if we would take some photos of her working in her studio. It was a magic experience being able to use our photographic art to capture Lisa's incredible art.  She's such a genius, that Lisa! :) I especially love the golden cast of the light bringing out the gold glowing tones in the art pieces.Lisa comes from Creative Stock, her Mom, Denise, is an artist and her Dad, Norm, is a writer. We spotted Lisa's Mom outside the studio and called her in to help hold some lights for us.  Look for a cameo of Denise near the bottom of the post.I know you want to see more of her work. We all do. She has two shows coming up this summer, the first one is called "They Dream For Us," and it is at the Schoolhouse Gallery on Cortes Island, July 18 to 27th.
