Chennai Commuters

We left the Andman islands sadly behind, and expecting the worst, (the guidebook saying to skip Chennai, that there is nothing to see), we were pleasantly surprised to find that we loved Chennai! The quality of the light here is stunnning, and the pollution not nearly as bad as Delhi, and the people are so friendly. We decided to take the commuter train instead of an autorickshaw from the airport to our hotel, and it was beautiful to see the city from the train instead of the steaming highway, honking traffic. After we disembarked from the two-hour train ride, we walked about a mile to our hotel. It cost us 8 rupee's total, less then 25 cents. not bad for the scenic route.[slideshow]
