Wedding Photos Best of 2014 (Campbell River-Comox-Victoria-Tofino)
It was full-on all season, and our weddings this year were chock-full of sweetness, excitement, and love, love love!2014 was a breakout year for us in terms of images that have won awards. While previous seasons have garnered us just a smattering of contest recognition, 2014 saw 18 awards given to our photos by the Professional Wedding Photographer's of Canada (PWPC), and the International Society of Wedding Photography (ISPWP). I suppose it's possible we have refined our skills dramatically— but maybe we have just become more savvy as to what the judges are looking for, rather than just entering all the photos we like best? ;)We were asked to be one of the judges for the spring PWPC awards— which was very illuminating, and extremely difficult! So many good photos entered, so hard to choose!The collection below is of photographs that represents the work that we like best. It was very hard to whittle down. We get emotionally attached to moments and memories and sometimes we layer those attachments onto the images— perhaps seeing the images less objectively. (Certain images were very hard work to get and that may also factor into how highly we value them). So, the 'Best of 2014' collection may be a highly subjective and possibly flawed exercise in detachment and unbiased favoritism—but we'll be the judges of that.
