Justina and Jeremy (Quadra Island Wedding Photography)
We had a sense upon first meeting Justina and Jeremy during the initial client/photographer interview process, that we had just met some future friends. After working with them on the engagement shoot we felt we had indeed become friends. And by the time we photographed their wedding last September, Justina and Jeremy had become beloved friends. It was a little difficult processing and selecting their wedding photos with the usual objective eye because we admire and adore these two. "Is this a good photo, or did we select it just because we think the subjects are sweeties?"Justina and Jeremy live on the neighboring island of Quadra, with their loving pup, Juniper (J, J, & J). And Quadra Island is where they were wed on a sunny brisk Fall day at the Taku Resort in Heriot Bay. Reception was held at the Legion Hall.Justina wore two dresses that day. For the "first look", portrait session and reception she wore a new "Octopus Infinity Wrap" dress in a shade of blue that perfectly matched her eyes. But to the surprise and delight of her father, she changed just before the ceremony into a family heirloom dress which had been worn at the wedding of both her great-great-grandmother and her Mother.Just before the wedding ceremony began Justina and her Father had their own "first look" moment, with Justina's Mom and sister looking on; Justina tapped her father on the shoulder to reveal herself resplendent in the old dress her father had thought to his chagrin that she would not be wearing. This very tear-filled and joyous moment was immediately followed by the tear-filled and joyous ceremony. Afterwards Justina's father said he couldn't cry at the ceremony because he was already 'tapped out.'J & J are serious foodies, and very much of the 'local sustainable organic' persuasion (see Jeremy's new start-up The Good Food Project). So, much of the delicious food at the reception was just that...,grown and/or wildharvested on Quadra by friends and family specifically for the event. Justina's dad caught all the fish himself. After dinner, renowned DJ Adam Shaikh shook the Legion well into the happy dancing night.
