Rose's Boat Ride [Cortes Island Family Portrait Photography]

This was actually a fueling excursion from Cortes Island to Lund, BC, with a dozen or so Cortesians aboard the Misty Isles schooner (a kayak mothership and adventure boat working the Desolation Sound area [mistyislesadventures.com]). But the youngest and most photogenic passenger roaming the decks that day appears in so many of the select shots that I am calling this post 'Rose's Boat Ride.' On a perfect day in early December, Mike Moore, skipper and owner of 'Misty' celebrated his fiftieth birthday by asking a handful of friends, (including me, fortunately), to join him on a leisurely jaunt to the gas dock at Lund and lunch at Nancy's Bakery. Misty Isles is a remarkably comfortable and beautifully outfitted vessel. Our excursion was pure pleasure.
