New Year's Eve [Portland Travel Photography]

Three nights of Railroad Earth at the Crystal Ballroom—and there were springs in the floor! We were feeling very bouncy.The adjacent Crystal Hotel is rather wonderful, with each room painted for a song or band that has played at the Ballroom. Our room had an early 'Van Morrison & Them' theme. The hotel also featured a hot salt water pool and grotto type club room with stages and shows in the basement. Super fun place to stay if you're ever in Portland. We couldn't believe our luck, and wanted to stay forever. But then we remembered—next stop, Costa Rica. And we high-tailed it out of there.
