Timeline Example for Wedding Day

Here are two examples of a 10-hour photography timeline. The first is for a couple that decides not to do a First Look, and the 2nd is for a couple who decide they do want to do a first look. Of course your day may look completely different from this!- Note that there is not a lot of time for portraits during the day because in these examples I have scheduled in an hour for portraits at sunset. **No First Look Timeline with the Ceremony at 3:30pm and the Reception at 6:30pm.1pm: Photography start time, getting ready photos: candid photos of bride getting ready with friends and family, hair and makeup, bride getting into her dress, detail photos of mementos, portraits of the bride, portraits of the bride with her wedding party, portraits of the bride with immediate family members that are with her when she is getting ready. The 2nd photographer will be covering the Groom.3:30pm: ceremony, assuming the ceremony is around 30 minutes, and leaving 15 minutes in case it starts late4:15pm: Family Formals, we can cover most standard groupings fairly quickly, but if you have a lot of groups it would take longer than 30 minutes4:45pm: Wedding Party Photos5:15pm: Bride and Groom photos possibly in a few different locations6:30pm: Bride and Groom entrance followed by dinner! You could have speeches at this point or you could have speeches during dessert.7:30pm: dessert and possibly speeches8pm: cake cut8:15pm: First dance and possibly mother/son, father/daughter dances8:30pm: Sneak out with photographers for some beautiful sunset photos. This is optional but we are hoping you will go for it, the light cannot be beat at sunset!9:30pm: Everyone dancing on the dance floor11pm: Photographers leave **First Look Timeline:1pm: Photography start time. All the getting ready photos are the same as above timeline.3:30pm: First look. Bride and Groom see each other for the first time. Portraits of the Bride and Groom4:30pm: Wedding Party Photos before the ceremony5pm: Ceremony5:45pm: Family Photos6:30pm: Bride and Groom entrance followed by dinner! The schedule is the same from here on in.7:30pm: dessert and possibly speeches8pm: cake cut8:15pm: First dance and possibly mother/son, father/daughter dances8:30pm: Sneak out with photographers for some beautiful sunset photos.9:30pm: Everyone dancing on the dance floor11pm: Photographers leave I hope this helps give an idea of what our a wedding day timeline can look like. We customize every wedding of course, depending on the flow of your day and how many hours you book in with us.Because I like to add photos into my blog posts, here is a random photo of our little family.darshanalexander-1
