Marnie Recker: Portraits of a Tofino Photographer

Early in July we had the great fortune to traipse around Tofino in the footsteps of one of the longtime locals.  Marnie Recker also happens to be a colleague of sorts, which is to say, a fellow wedding photographer.  Such a delight to get the chance to compare notes and 'talk shop' with another seasoned pro who is deeply involved in the industry.  It was also a great boon to us that Marnie graciously took us on a tour of her favorite shooting spots around Chesterman Beach and the Wickaninnish Resort where we were to be photographing a wedding the following day.  We took some images along the way (just testing the light, as it were) of Marnie, of each other, and of Marnie's wonderful dog, Karma.  Here are some of the fruits of our playtime and scouting missions with Marnie.
