Greg & Marie [Craidelonna Sooke Wedding Photography]
Marie and Greg decided they were having a three-day celebration for their wedding, and lucky me, I got to be there, taking photos, for two of those days. They were married at my favorite venue—Craidelonna—in Sooke. And they did it right. They invited their best friends to come and stay, and for three days all of them soaked up the beautiful sunny September weather. It seemed as though the guests were enjoying every minute of it—and who wouldn't with such lovely company, and when staying at one of the most spectacular Lodges on Vancouver Island?Authentic, deep, and long-lasting friendships dominated the guest list at this wedding. The speeches were some of the most moving words I have ever heard, at a wedding or elsewhere. There were constantly tears in the eyes of the bride and groom, and many of the guests as well. I think Marie's Father said it best when he toasted the bride and groom: "thank you, for being the kindest group of intellectuals I have ever had the pleasure of spending time with."The uproar of laughter created anytime Marie and her best girlfriends were to be found in close proximity, along with Greg's spontaneous heart-felt speeches, all helped create a magic and memorable weekend. There were definitely a few feature moments at this wedding, not least of which when one of Marie's best friends started busting out her 'booty dance,' to curb the leaky-eye syndrome that had become prevalent prior to the ceremony. Greg's teary-eyed declaration to Marie's Father, telling him that he would always take great care of Marie, was another moment I will never forget. It was very apparent that he meant every word—these two are going to love each other for the rest of their lives. Yay for true love! What a pleasure to be a part of this wedding, thank-you Marie and Greg!
