Brooke and Robin (Victoria Wedding Photography)
Brooke and Robin are movie buffs. With this in mind we took a somewhat cinematic approach to the portraiture on their wedding day. It helped that Robin went all out for the '007' look with his tuxedo stylings and Brooke looked like something out of 'Gone With The Wind.' The bridal parties got ready at the Oswego Hotel in downtown Victoria, but their incredibly fun wedding ceremony took place at Heritage Acres in Saanich, BC. We had never been there before and didn't know what to expect. We heard there were going to be mini-trains and bits of old stuff lying about. But what we found was acres of truly great photo props and an elaborate railway set-up that was the crux of the whole ceremony. The guests all rode into the ceremony site on mini trains and then the groomsmen and later the bride and her gals all rode in dramatically across a trestle above the cheering throng. Great fun. We wandered about in the reconstructed 1900's village for many of our portraits then headed to the Prospect Lake Community Hall for the reception. We feel lucky to have been chosen to be the ones to photograph this stylish, quirky, unique, and hilarious wedding. Thank you Brooke and Robin for getting us involved!
